About Us
Established in 2014, the SOWEGA Beekeepers Club has made it it's mission to educate everyone interested in bees in everything from supporting bees in your local area to keeping a colony Day 1 and beyond.
As a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status and as a member of the Georgia Beekeepers Association, SOWEGA uses it's funds & donations to hold educational events such as our annual spring 'Bee School', 'Family Bee Day' in the summer, 6 speakers in the bee industry at meetings through the year and up to 8 workshops in our Educational Apiary per year. Our educational outreach efforts also include attending numerous events such a the SUNBelt Expo, Family farm Days and STEM events in elementary schools, & other festivals & activities.

Whether it's to improved garden yield, outdoor therapy, or just a little extra honey money, Beekeeping is a valuable and amazing skill anyone can master with the right mentorship. We encourage everyone in the community of beekeepers and friends to join us, the second Thursday of every month at 6pm at Chehaw Park for meetings and the following Sunday at 2pm for workshops.
